7 - Day Sail - Exumas

Arrival

Welcome to the Exumas: Your journey into the sapphire waters of the Bahamas begins the second you land. We highly encourage a Friday arrival, allowing you to settle in and embrace the islands' relaxed rhythm before our departure.

Flying into the Exumas is a breeze, with flights landing daily at Exuma International Airport (GGT). Once you arrive, we handle the rest. A pre-arranged private taxi will transport you straight to the marina where your floating home awaits. Settle in for your first night onboard so you can wake up to the ocean breeze, fully refreshed and ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 1 - Highborne Cay

Day 1: The Adventure Begins at Highborne Cay: We kick off your Exumas charter by setting the bar high! Highborne Cay is the perfect gateway, offering an idyllic first overnight stay that establishes the rhythm for your entire voyage. Spend your first afternoon kayaking the pristine waters of Horseshoe Bay, or grab your mask to explore the "Octopus Garden"—a spectacular, vibrant reef hidden just below the surface of an uninhabited beach.


Prehistoric Encounters & Hilltop Sunsets: Ready for your first wildlife encounter? We will take a short, one-mile dinghy ride northwest to Allan’s Cay. Step ashore at Leaf Cay, where you will be greeted by the island's famous residents: friendly, three-foot-long Bahamian rock iguanas!


As evening approaches, we return to Highborne Cay to celebrate the launch of your vacation. Toast to the week ahead with a cocktail and a fantastic dinner at the island's hilltop restaurant, Xuma Restaurant and Bar, boasting breathtaking 360-degree views of our unspoiled paradise as the sun dips below the horizon. Reservations ahead of time are an absolute must. Planning will include the option to dine onboard with a pre-planned meal cooked to perfection.

Day 2 - Norman Cay

Setting Sail for Norman’s Cay: Your Exumas adventure continues! Our destination is the legendary Norman’s Cay, surrounded by a pristine coral reef and neighboring islets that make it an absolute must-see. Whether you are ready to dive straight into your favorite saltwater activities or ease into vacation mode with some sun-drenched relaxation, this prime location sets the perfect tone for the week.


The Sunken Plane & Twinkie Beach: The highlight of the afternoon is a snorkeling excursion to the southwest point of the cay. Resting in just 10 feet of crystal-clear water are the remains of a sunken plane—now a thriving natural habitat for vibrant coral and schools of colorful tropical fish. It is an effortless, first-rate snorkeling experience you won't forget.

Afterward, head ashore for a peaceful stroll along nearby Twinkie Beach. Known for its excellent seashell collecting and its iconic, photogenic lone palm tree, it is the ultimate spot to watch your first island sunset.


Settle into dinner server beachside at MacDuff's Restaurant for its famous burgers and conch fritters with plenty of Bahamian cuisine on the menu.

Day 3 - Compass Cay

Compass Cay: Sharks, Sea Caves, and Natural Spas: Prepare for a day of pure exhilaration! Our next stop is the vibrant Compass Cay, a world-renowned destination where luxury meets raw natural wonder. While the cay boasts a fantastic full-service marina and welcoming restaurant, the true magic lies in the water. Step off the docks and into the crystal-clear shallows for a once-in-a-lifetime thrill: swimming alongside the island's famous, friendly nurse sharks.


Explore the Hidden Exumas: The adventure only deepens from there. Take a short excursion to the northern tip of the cay to discover Rachel’s Bubble Bath—a natural, bubbling tidal pool created by crashing ocean waves that rivals any luxury spa. Just a short hop away, you can explore the mesmerizing, echoing chambers of the Rocky Dundas Grotto off Fowl Cay. After a day of unforgettable marine encounters, you can choose to dine at the Compass Cay marina or enjoy an elegant evening meal at the acclaimed Fowl Cay restaurant (reservations recommended).

Day 4 - Staniel Cay

Cinematic Adventures at Staniel Cay: Channel your inner secret agent for an action-packed day at Staniel Cay! Famous for providing the breathtaking backdrop for two classic James Bond films, this island is the ultimate playground for adventure seekers.


Thunderball Grotto & Island Exploration: Just west of the cay lies the legendary "Thunderball Grotto." Grab your snorkel and dive into this spectacular underwater cave system, which is absolutely teeming with vibrant coral heads and exotic marine life. After surfacing from your cinematic dive, you can rent a golf cart at the marina to explore the island's charming, sun-drenched roads at your own pace. Don't forget to go swimming with the World's only famous swimming pigs!!!!


Evening Elegance at the Yacht Club: As the sun sets on your day of exploration, trade your wetsuit for evening wear. We highly recommend making dinner reservations at the iconic Staniel Cay Yacht Club. It is the perfect place to enjoy an elegant meal onshore, surrounded by a lively harbor atmosphere and authentic island flair.

Day 5 - Warderick Wells Cay

The Heart of the Reserve: Immerse yourself in the breathtaking tranquility of Warderick Wells Cay. Serving as the headquarters for the 176-square-mile Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park—the largest underwater marine park in the Caribbean—this premier anchorage offers deeply protected, crystal-clear waters that invite total relaxation.


Untouched Trails & Pristine Shores: Ashore, the spirit of discovery awaits. You can wander at your own pace along 20 marked nature trails, each offering sweeping panoramic views, or find your own private slice of paradise on one of the island’s 20 secluded beaches. Because this entire region is a strictly protected marine reserve, the vibrant snorkeling and scenic hiking found here are completely unmatched, offering a profound connection to the unspoiled beauty of the Bahamas.


Dinner will be served on board for the evening, with the selection you picked for the evening, cooked to perfection.

Day 6 - Shroud Cay

Another Day of Tranquility at Shroud Cay: As our journey continues within the protected boundaries of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, prepare to slip even further into vacation mode. Shroud Cay is a stunning, uninhabited archipelago where rocky outcrops meet pristine white-sand beaches, all woven together by an enchanting network of mangrove channels.


Mangroves & Deserted Beaches: Because these sheltered coves are fully protected, they serve as a thriving, undisturbed nursery for sea turtles, conch, and vibrant marine life. We will lower the dinghy to gently navigate the shallow, sandy-bottom creeks and quiet estuaries that carve through the island. For a touch of local lore and breathtaking scenery, a short stroll to Camp Driftwood Beach rewards you with a legendary lookout point. With no other footprints in the sand, Shroud Cay offers the ultimate luxury: the serene, unmatched feeling of having an entire deserted island completely to yourself.


Dinner will be served on board for this evening, with the selection you picked for the evening, cooked to perfection. Another option that we offer is to pack a picnic basket for your party to enjoy eating on the beach, your choice.

Day 7 - Rose Island

The Grand Finale: Rose Island: As our weeklong adventure draws to a close, we make our final stop at Rose Island, a hidden Bahamian gem just off the eastern coast of Nassau. This 11-mile stretch of boater’s paradise offers the perfect setting to celebrate the end of an incredible journey, featuring crystal-clear snorkeling, secluded coves, and four distinct beaches.


Choose Your Perfect Ending: Whether you want to end your trip with a celebration or in total tranquility, Rose Island delivers. Head to Sandy Toes Beach to experience the vibrant Sunday party scene at their lively seaside bar and grill. If you prefer a quieter farewell, escape to the hilltop hammock grove to listen to the palm trees sway and the waves gently crash against the shore.


One Last Sunset: We will anchor for the night on the serene northern side of the island. Spend your final evening on deck, reminiscing about your unforgettable Exumas charter and raising a glass to one last, radiant Bahamian sunset before we return to port in the morning.
